What does a manufacturer's warranty cover?
In general a manufacturers warranty covers items that are defective from the factory. These warranties do not how ever cover items that are subject to wear such as belts bristles and attachments.
Should I fix my old vacuum or purchase a new one?
Do like your old vacuum? Does the repair cost approach the price of a new vacuum? How old is your vacuum? These are your three major considerations when deciding whether to fix or replace you current vacuum.
How much does Swanson's charge for an estimate?

What is the advantage to bagless vacuums?
The obvious advantage is no bags to buy. However bagless vacuums do have filters, these filters do need to be cleaned often, and most need to be replaced yearly. The cost of replacement filters can be much higher than paper bags. Bagless vacuums also tend to be messier and have a higher risk for blockage and other mechanical problems.
How many different vacuums does Swanson's carry?

Do you rent shampooers?
Yes we do. Rent a shampooer for 24 hours for 19.95. If you like it, you can subtract the rental from the purchase of a new one.
Is HEPA better than electrostatic?
When it comes to air purifiers, our HEPA filter units are more efficient and less maintenance than electrostatic units.
What is HEPA filtration?
High Efficiency Particulate Arrest. This is the highest filtration advaible on today’s vacuums and air cleaners. Note: If a vacuum is not properly sealed there is a potential for dust leakage no matter how sophisticated the filter.
Which is better an upright or canister?
One is not necessarily better than the other. I generally recommend uprights to people who are interested in rug cleaning only and canisters to people with a variety of cleaning needs such as rugs, hard floors and furniture.
What is the best vacuum on the market?
This is probably the commonly asked question I run into in my stores. The best vacuum is the one that suits your needs the best. Some people want the best for rug cleaning while others may want something light weight. For some the main concern may be air filtration. How long does the average vacuum last?
A recent study concluded that the average life of a modern vacuum is 2-3 years. How ever better quality and well maintained vacuums can last 10, 15 even 20 years.
